Guy Fieri's peeps forgot to do something

register the domain name for his restaurant, Guy's American Kitchen. And, of course, someone took advantage of that fact.
Here's the parody website Guy's American Kitchen & Bar (the real website to the Guy Fieri's NYC restaurant is guysamerican.com vs the fake guysamericankitchenandbar.com). It was put together by a gentleman by the name of Bryan Mytko who proudly tweeted: "Guy Fieri didn't register his restaurant's domain name, so I picked it up. I think this new menu look great." The website, a simple parody menu, includes things like "Guy's Big Balls," "Honky-Tonky Double Barrel Meat Loaded Blast," and "The 'Hobo Lobo Bordello Slam Jam' Appetizer." There is also a french fry topping called "Donkamole." - Eater

Note to Cablevision...Stop the Cable Food Fight

You really don't want to piss off Foodies. Forget "MTV"...they want their FoodTV...and quick. Cablevision execs might not want to mention their occupations whilst dining out, either. Their Ceasar Salads just might come with a "knife in the back." Resentment and revenge are "dishes best served cold." So...when you least expect it...they will get back at you.

She was home watching a marathon on "House Hunters" on New Year's Eve when HGTV and the Food Network were suddenly taken away from her and roughly 3 million other subscribers in the region.

Since then, the two companies - Cablevision and HGTV/Food Network owner Scripps Networks - have been carrying on a campaign of finger-pointing advertisements and corporate statements blaming the other for the loss.

The very popular "Food Network" has been yanked from Cablevision systems in a dispute over money. Food Network routinely searches for "diners, drive-ins and dives," but many Cablevision subscribers have been left searching for the channel itself, reports CBS station WCBS-TV.

"I'm kind of upset that they snatched it out like that without warning anybody," Cablevision subscriber Diana Rogers said. - philly57

Fan Favorite Fabio

to get his own TV show? Oh, my! Gossipsauce is spilling some hot spicey news!
While we’re still mourning Carla’s loss to Hosea in the season finale of Top Chef: New York, we have delightful news that was confirmed to us by the man himself yesterday.

Fabio is getting his own show.

That’s right, Season Five’s breakout star, the Italian Stallion, Fabio Viviani, is coming to a TV screen near you.

Do you hear that?

It’s the faint sound of mouths watering and panties dropping.

Rachel's Vacation

or that was the name of the show Rachel Ray was here filming in Santa Barbara. Not only did she visit Stella Mare's, but she managed to venture to the Wine Cask and Elements. So, with those destinations, we certainly knew it wasn't going to be $40 a day.

Her vacation was cut a little short however, as the electricity gave the musicians grief on Friday and those of us in attendence, including Ms. Ray, we entertained with canned jazz. It was a glorious evening however, and I did pack a picnic and enjoyed the people watching and canned music listening.

The only glimpses I got of Ms. Ray was her walking across the lawn with her "peeps" and camera crew and then seeing her plunk down into a big white puffy chair they had set up on a cordoned off section of Courthouse lawn....for the VIPS and wannabe VIPS. Ms. Ray is quite diminutive so I only got glimpses of the top of her dark haired head after that.

Don't know when the episode will run...but stay tuned and we'll try to find out.

Guess I better let reader Fletch know...he's wild about the girl.

** UPDATE ** Could Ms. Ray be filming at the Sunken Gardens Concert tonight, at the Courthouse Jazz Series, too?

PBS Wine Reality Show filmed "locally"

OK...just up the 101 a wee bit in Paso Robles....but it's still considered "local." Look for The Wine Makers coming to a PBS station near you!

The six-part series..(which began preproduction in December)....will feature five contestants, all with a strong interest in wine, competing for a chance to launch their own wine label, Whelan said. Contestants will test their mettle in every aspect of the wine industry, from viticulture to enology to sales and marketing.

Or, as the press release puts it, "In each half-hour episode, the five candidates must endure backbreaking work, long hours and the joys and heartaches of making the world's most storied beverage."

The series will likely include scenes shot in the Central Coast's most popular wine regions: Paso Robles, San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara, which was made famous by the success of the 2004 film Sideways. - Wine Spectator

And from the same production folks.....TED ALLEN is back....and UNCORKED!

Continuing his efforts to educate the American people about all things food and wine, Ted Allen (food and wine specialist on the Emmy Award-winning NBC/Bravo hit "Queer Eye,") hosts UNCORKED: Wine Made Simple, airing on PBS stations across the nation starting April 2007. UNCORKED takes viewers into the heart of the vineyard and the mind of the winemaker. The 6-part series blends useful information, humor, inviting personalities, and exquisite photography as it travels around the world to explore the most storied beverage on earth.
I'll toast to these shows! Salud!

Stop by and pull up a glass at some of the Paso Robles wine blogs, too.

Anthony Bourdain....

rules ruhl's!
Oh, Mario! Oh great one! They shut down Molto Mario--only the smartest and best of the stand-up cooking shows. Is there any more egregiously under-used, criminally mishandled, dismissively treated chef on television? Relegated to the circus of Iron Chef America, where--like a great, toothless lion, fouling his cage, he hangs on--and on--a major draw (and often the only reason to watch the show). How I would like to see him unchained, free to make the television shows he’s capable of, the Real Mario--in all his Rabelasian brilliance. How I would love to hear the snapping bones of his cruel FN ringmasters, crunching between his mighty jaws! Let us see the cloven hooves beneath those cheery clogs! Let Mario be Mario!
