When Michael Pollan speaks..most people listen.

Some, however, "freak out" especially if they are part of "Big Beef" industry.
Nationally known sustainable food expert Michael Pollan will now be part of a panel discussion at Cal Poly on Oct. 15 rather than giving his planned one-hour lecture. The recently announced format change comes on the heels of a letter to Cal Poly President Warren Baker from Harris Ranch Beef Company Chairman David E. Wood, threatening to withdraw a pledged $500,000 donation for a new meat processing facility on the campus. - New Times SLO

Yet Another Cupcake Place in Santa Barbara

Sweet Buttercup, although it seems to be web-based, is having an open house on Saturday, September 27th from 4:00 - 6:30 p.m. for sampling of their frosting topped wares. Will I see you there?

Sweet Buttercup
2611 De la Vina, Santa Barbara, CA - 805-967-8160
Sweet Buttercup is a web-based cupcakery that specializes in custom gourmet cupcakes and cookies. We use premium ingredients such as cocoa from France, Belgium chocolate, and Madagascar-bourbon vanilla. We take great care to provide a product that tastes as delicious as it looks. All of our product is scratch-baked and decorated to match any event or theme.
They look pretty good....the cuppycakes got rave reviews from The Cupcakes Club.
Looks like Santa Barbara is in the midst of "cupcake frosting wars!"
May I can entice Cakespy to come investigate and report.
