More Buck for Chuck

Bummer, dude.
My little inexpensive indulgences....getting upped. First the .99 Cent Store...Now 2 Buck Chuck!
Is this the end of Two Buck Chuck?

A proposal to raise the state tax on wine to a level more than six times higher to help close California's giant budget deficit would kill the $1.99 price for Charles Shaw wine, said Fred Franzia, who created the famous label sold by the Trader Joe's grocery chain. - LATimes
Can't we just tax politicians?

Labels: , , , ,

An increase in our wine tax won't hurt most wine sellers/wine makers. It's the low price of plonk that creates the impression that the increase is a lot of money, it's just a big percentage increase for cheapie wine.

The silver lining might be opening low priced wine drinkers' eyes to other, better, wine at a slightly higher price than Charles Shaw.
