The Habit team unveils new burger restaurant
Hook Burger Bistro.
The team that grew The Habit into a hamburger chain with dozens of stores is now behind the launch of a new burger “bistro” in Oxnard that could be the first of many.
...For Brent Reichard, who bought the original Habit Burger Grill in Goleta in 1980 along with his brother, it’s about stepping into a new space that doesn’t compete with his former restaurant chain. Although they sold the chain to a private equity firm in 2007, the brothers still own the four Habit restaurants in Santa Barbara, which Bruce Reichard manages, and remain substantial stakeholders in the company
...Reichard tries to get his produce from Southern California growers. The shakes are made with Santa Barbara-based McConnell’s ice cream, and most of the dressings are made in-house, he said. He uses the same meat provider he first formed a relationship with while running The Habit. - Ventura County Star
