I wish I could afford to buy it. I love the old-time Santa Barbara feel that El Paseo has managed to retain. I hope no one destroys that.

I wish I could buy it as well! My grandfather was an entertainer back in the 30's when entertainers were true entertainment. During his time a the El Paseo he met people such as Bing Crosby, Ronald Reagan, Shirley Temple and many others who occassionally stopped in. As a matter of fact my mother has many photographs of Frank "Pancho" Escobedo as he performed in the courtyard area with his orchestra. There is a Fiesta Days poster with him playing the violin at the bottom of the stairs with the rest of the orchestra. My uncle Conrad or "Sonny" as he was called grew up watching the band practice from the upper level of the restaurant. I really hope that the restaurant continues to remain open and that its history is truely remembered for all to enjoy.
