Maine isn't the only place

for gigantic lobsters. We've got them off the coast right here in Santa Barbara!
In his years exploring the depths of the ocean, free-diver Tom Powers has seen all manners of beasts, including great white sharks and black sea bass as big as a Volkswagen Beetle. But he had never seen a monster like the one he snatched off Santa Rosa Island near Santa Barbara a few weeks ago.

The Santa Cruz man landed an 11-pound lobster that will be the main character of a fishing tale for years to come. And if you don't believe it, you can see it at the Monterey Bay Aquarium. - Mercury News.com
